Kazakhstan and Germany Sign 36 Documents for $6.3 Billion
The agreements aim to develop joint projects in areas such as transport and logistics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing and mining, agriculture, energy, petrochemistry, scientific research, etc.
Within the framework of the Kazakh-German Business Forum, organized with the support of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" and attended by the two heads of state, 36 commercial documents worth $6.3 billion were signed.
The agreements aim to develop joint projects in areas such as transport and logistics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing and mining, agriculture, energy, petrochemistry, scientific research, etc. The signing became influential in developing bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.
Thus, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Skyhansa signed a Framework Agreement on constructing an international airport in "Khorgos — The Eastern Gate" for $560 million. The joint project is expected to be implemented in three stages and create about 700 jobs. The capacity of the cargo terminal will be 50 thousand tons of cargo, and the capacity of the passenger terminal will be up to 500 people per hour. Another transport and logistics industry agreement was the Memorandum of Understanding between Aktau Commercial Seaport and Rhenus SE on constructing a trimodal container terminal by 2030.
A number of signatures are aimed at localization of various equipment in Kazakhstan. The cooperation agreement between NUH Baiterek and CLAAS Global Sales is designed to produce seeders and tractors in the country in the amount of $1.1 billion. Similarly, Agromashholding and AMAZONEN-WERKE H. DREYER signed an agreement on the implementation of a project for the joint production of Condor seeders in the Kostanay region in the amount of $250 million. NUH Baiterek and HORSCH Maschinen signed an agreement to cooperate in the production of agricultural machinery in the amount of $770 million. Finally, Samruk-Kazyna and SIEMENS signed a strategic partnership Agreement within the framework of localization of production of control and measuring devices in Kazakhstan in the amount of $27 million.
Within the forum, a $2.4 billion Memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed between Qazaq Kalium, KfW Bankengruppe, and Euler Hermes Group on the construction of a processing and production complex for the production of potassium salts and boric acid based on the Satimola deposit in the West Kazakhstan region.
Also, NUH Baiterek and KfW Bankengruppe signed a Memorandum of Understanding for $500 million, which implies credit financing of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
A number of declarative documents were signed. Thus, the RSE NCTP and the Federal Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany (BGR) signed a Memorandum of Intent to explore the potential of RM and REM, their processing, and their use in the two countries’ industries. The National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the German Center for Geo-Research (GFZ) signed a Memorandum to cooperate on seismic hazard monitoring and earthquake warning.
Implementing the agreements will be essential to expand fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
